Painting a portrait

This week I have had the pleasure of painting a portrait of Julia during the mornings.  Then proceeding to teach her still life painting during the afternoons.

There are many elements to learn about painting from the model before you find your paintings coming to life on the canvas, but for me the obvious advantage of this method is that when standing back you can directly compare your painting and subject in the same line of vision.

for more information about taking lessons in the studio or ‘plein-air’ you can visit the Tuition page or contact Daniel directly.
